Rant

I am so sick of people in bands that think they are entitled to an opinion about the music industry because they play sold out shows every day. Let me tell you something that I find more and more true the deeper I go into the music world: 90% of people in this world are mindless, uncreative schleps who have no opinions of their own, so they wear/listen to/think/tout the same mediocre garbage as every other mindless drone around them. This is why all the crappiest artists get the biggest fan bases. That's the 90% that wear Hollister and Aeropostale and listen to Lady Gaga and think Slipknot is the heaviest music on the planet. These are the people who buy 160GB iPods and fill it 3% of the way with 300 hit songs by 300 artists from the Top 40.

The other 10% of people actually developed opinions of their own as young adults. They dig into the fringes of the music society and form their own tastes. These people listen to real music played by people with actual talent. People who have to sift through miles of crap just to get a few people to hear them. They'll never play shows as big as Lamb of God will, and they'll never be rich or famous, but they still write and play because they love it. They love to make real music. And when you live in the real world with Different types of music, you can't categorize everything within R&B, Rock/Metal, Hip Hop, and Country.

But none of this will ever mean anything to those vapid idiots in the 90%. They'll read my comment, get confused trying to come up with something to comment in defense and say "F it" and just leave the page. The only people who'll comment on this are the people who already understand these things. My people.
